Associate Professor George Zillante

Hello and welcome. I started my working life as an architect in 1976 and still maintain my own private practice. I subsequently went on to study Planning and moved into local government, initially as a planner but then as architect and building surveyor for the City of Unley. Subsequently I saw the need for a management qualification in order to progress in large organisations and so I undertook post-graduate studies in management. When I joined the University of South Australia in 1991 I saw the need to undertake a higher degree by research and went on to complete my Doctorate. Currently I am busy as an Associate Professor and Head of Construction and Project Management. In addition, I am a Director of the Centre for Building and Planning Studies, a research and consultancy centre based in the Institute for Sustainable Systems & Technologies (ISST). I have a continuing involvement in practising my profession and undertaking research which will be of practical benefit to industry. My approach to teaching is to integrate the theoretical knowledge and experience with my practical knowledge and experience.
