Dr. Hung-Yao Hsu received his PhD in Manufacturing Engineering from University of South Australia, his Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan, and his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from National Taiwan Institute of Technology, Taiwan.

He has been involved in various projects both in Australia and Taiwan. Projects in the past included rapid transit system construction, laser printer development, and cellular manufacturing system design.

His current research project topics include a disposalble manometric catheter for functional swallowing disorders diagnosis, a DNA microarray printing system, a hybridisation station for DNA microarray technology application, nanomagnetic particle fabrication for targeted drug delivery, microjoining and micromanufacturing technologies, conceptual design evaluation of environmental friendly product develoopment, and design creativity of CBR.
