Research interests

  • My thesis concerned collecting behaviour. I am particularly interested in the semiotic analysis of objects and in aesthetics. My philosophical standpoint derives from a synthesis of social construction and evolutionary psychology theories. I am also interested in the ways readers construct meaning in poetry.

Research publications

My undergraduate paper 'Estuary English' appeared in 'Fuse or fracture : English as a world lingua franca' / edited by Mia Stephens, Ioana Petrescu and Ann Reu.(UniSA 2005)

My undergraduate verse essay on Ken Bolton appeared in 'Heart of the matter : an introduction to eighteen South Australian poets' / edited by Ioana Petrescu and Naomi Brewer, Lythrum Press, 2004.

My poetry collection 'Deaf Elegies' was published by Friendly Street/Wakefield Press in 2005 (New Poets 10)

I have had poetry published by LiNQ, Social Alternatives, WetInk and Friendly Street, and my poem 'Sniffing' was read on the ABC 'Poetica' radio program in 2005.
