Welcome to my home page. I am the Program Director, International and Development in the School of Nursing and Midwifery, Division of Health Sciences.

My research and teaching interests include social and political aspects of nursing and health care, quality use of medicines, mentoring, consumer participation in health care, acute care of older people, health policy, health workforce, the regulation of nursing and health care practices including development of standards and assessment of professional competence.I am particularly interested in qualitative approaches to inquiry including discourse analysis.

My current research includes a project to develop nursing competency standards and a competency assessment tool for an aged care provider.

I am currently a non executive Director of the Royal District Nursing Service of South Australia and the Royal District Nursing Service of South Australia Foundation.
