I am the Web Editor for the Research pillar (which includes Research and Innovation Services and Research degrees) and support the development of online resources for research degree students and supervisors. I developed an online workshop called Networking in the research community, used with higher degree by research students from 2006 as part of RESA Online. I am also the Web Editor for the South Australian School of Art and Samstag Museum.
I was on secondment to Marketing and Development Unit as Corporate Web Editor during April and May 2006. Also in 2006, I web authored the UniSA Branding and Style Guide. In 2007, I web authored the Research Marketing Toolkit and the Career Development Guide (staff access only).
In 2003, I was the technical writer on the Corporate Web Redevelopment Project, producing the UniSA web authoring guide, which won a 2005/6 Society for Technical Communication (Australia Chapter) Award for Excellence.
Other UniSA work experiences include online course developer (UniSAnet), editor of webpages for schools and services (using FrontPage and Dreamweaver), research assistant and project manager. Previously I was a reference librarian in the Distance Education Library Service.
I also specialise in editing educational materials. These include webpages for the School of Education, journal articles and theses in a variety of disciplines, and documents such as training manuals and annual reports for institutions outside the University (DECS, Transport SA and the Dept of Industry and Trade).
In 1999 I was granted Professional Development Leave for General Staff. I worked for 8 weeks at Queensland University of Technology Library in the External Library Services. The report I wrote about this experience, titled 'Professional development leave for general staff: eight weeks at Queensland University of Technology Library', is available through UniSA Library.
