Welcome to my Homepage!
Charlie MAO is a senior research fellow in the School of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of South Australia. He has been working as a physicist, senior phyicist and principal scientist, and project manager in a digital printing technology R&D company, Research Laboratories of Australia (RLA) from 1996 to 2009. He was a research scientist in department of soil science at University of Adelaide from 1995 - 1996, and a university lecturer from 1985-1990 at Wuhan University of Technology. He received B.Eng and M.Eng in PR China in early 1980s and PhD in Australia in 1995.
He has extensive experience in a) mathematical modelling; b) image processing, analysis, and algorithm development; c) colloid and surface science; and d) mineral processing. From 2002 to 2009, he has managed and participated several large international clients funded digital printer R&D projects and managed more than a quarter of RLA internal funded core research projects.
He also has extensive experience in software development, and can use several major program languages efficiently.

| Comments: | a) Original developer and maintainer: Perl script to convert both Microsoft word and OpenOffice writer documents to TWiki Markup format. Algorithm to convert table with rowspan and colspan is unique. The script reduces conversion time from several hours (manually) to less than a minute. b) Maintainer: MS Word to TWiki Markup Language Add-On (in VBA) since Ver. 1.486. |
