Hussain joined the International Graduate School of Business in July 2009 as a lecturer in International Business . Prior to this Hussain was a lecturer at the University of Adelaide. Hussain’s research interests include International Business Negotiations, Interest-Free (Islamic) Financial Systems, FDI and Trade issues (trade in services), and Corporate Governance. He is an active researcher in his field and has published in, and has forthcoming publications in, a number of international business journals. Hussain has a strong interest in business in the UK and the Asia-Pacific region (in particular Pakistan, Australia, China, India and Malaysia) and also researches the impact of political issues on trade and business in the region.
Hussain maintains an active interest and involvement with the business community and undertakes consulting projects for Australian SMEs and multinational corporations. During September-December 2008, Hussain was based at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland as a visiting scholar. Hussain is part of a team of chief investigators who were successful in securing an ARC linkage grant that is investigating trade related issues between Australia and the EU.
Hussain is also guest editing a special issue of the Journal of Finanacial Services Marketing that deals with Islamic banking and Finance. The call for papers can be accessed here: Journal of Financial Services Marketing
