Julie Luker is a physiotherapist with particular interests and expertise is in the fields of stroke management, the rehabilitation of older adults and inter-disciplinary models of team based care. Julie completed a Master of Physiotherapy in 2008 in which she investigated the implementation of acute stroke clinical guidelines by allied health staff, and is now exploring this topic further as a PhD candidate. Julie is actively involved in stroke service planning, guideline development and implementation at national and state levels, whilst maintaining a role as an allied health team leader within an acute stroke unit in Adelaide.
Research interests
- Julie is interested and involved in research into the clinical management and rehabilitation of patients with stroke. Other areas of research interests include evidence implementation, multi-disciplinary team based models of health care delivery and health care quality evaluation.
