Teaching interests

  • I currently teach first year students in both mathematics and statistics. I teach students with a wide range of mathematical ability and enjoy making maths and stats 'easy' to understand.

  • This semester I am supervising practicals in Statistics for Laboratory Sciences and tutoring Quantitative Methods in Business.
  • I have taken tutorials and practicals in Stats Analysis in Business, Maths for Laboratory Sciences, Stats for Laboratory Sciences, Stats and Research Methods and Engineering Maths 2E.

I teach the following courses

MATH 1040Statistics for Laboratory Sciences 101
MATH 1053Quantitative Methods for Business

Qualifications

Bachelor of Applied Science (Mathematics and Computer Modelling) (UniSA)

Bachelor of Applied Science (Industrial and Applied Mathematics) (First Class Honours) (UniSA)

Ph.D. (Mathematics) (continuing...)

Research interests

  • I am currently studying for my Ph.D. in mathematics. I am looking into the volatility of wind farm output. There has been a growth in wind farms in South Australia in the last few years. When the wind farms can predict with some accuracy their output, they can compete in the electricity market. Our aim is to develop some tools to model the volatility in the output.

  • My principal supervisor is Associate Prof. John Boland and my associate supervisor is Dr. Malgorzata Korolkiewicz.

  • Volatility prediction
  • Time series modelling
  • Hidden Markov Models
