Welcome! I'm Roger Tagg, Senior Lecturer in the School of Computer and Information Science. Please use the next paragraph as my definitive contact details.

My office is now at City West Campus (SM Building, 27-29 North Terrace), room SM1-31. My office phone is +61 8 8302 0413 and fax is +61 8 8302 9190. This semester (study period 5, 2009), I will normally only be at City West on Wednesday afternoons, PLUS EITHER Wednesday mornings OR Thursday afternoons (depending on various commitments). On Mondays (and Tuesday afternoons) I will be teaching at Mawson Lakes, based in room D3-10.

My current consultation hours, in the first half of 2009, are as follows: Mawson Lakes Mondays and Tuesdays 2-3 pm in D3-10; City West Wednesdays 4:30-5:30 pm.

I am semi-retired, therefore I only work 2.5 days a week. I will never be available on Tuesday or Thursday mornings, or Fridays. I will try to read my email on most days, but please be patient if I take a little longer than usual to reply to you.

This study period (August to November 2009), I am course coordinator for "Systems Design". I am also tutor for the Mawson Lakes workshop for "CIS Projects", and for external project students.

My research within the Information Systems Laboratory, on Knowledge Management in Work Support is continuing. As well as a common task-oriented "to-do" list for all a user's applications, and background agents to categorize incoming messages and documents, I am looking at mechanisms for recognizing categories from lexical strings in incoming messages and documents.

I am currently supervising one Honours Thesis and one Multimedia Project with Honours.
