Sharon Mascall is an award winning journalist, writer and broadcaster. An Oxford University graduate, she began her career as a producer and presenter of BBC radio and television programmes before moving to Australia in 1999. Today, she continues to produce and present documentaries for the BBC and writes regularly for national Australian newspapers. She is also a PhD candidate at UniSA researching 'An Australian Story: Media and Memory in the Making of Anzac Day'. Career highlights: presenter and producer of radio and television programmes for the BBC for over sixteen years; three years as a freelance presenter and producer of radio programmes for the ABC including Radio National's Asia Pacific; seven years as a columnist and feature writer for The Age, The Australian, The Sydney Morning Herald, The Independent Weekly and The Adelaide Review. Sharon speaks three languages and has worked in London, Paris, Brussels and Strasbourg as well as Singapore and Malaysia. Since she began broadcasting as a teenager, she has produced and presented almost a thousand hours of radio and television and written hundreds of published articles.
