John is the Director of the Applied Statistics Unit (ASU) which was officially launched by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Denise Bradley, in November 2003. The ASU was formed to provide consultancy services for local business, government departments and health providers.

John has particular interest in the following statistical fields:
