About me

I am a researcher with the British Columbia Centre of Excellence for Women's Health in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, where I do research on women and substance use issues.  I have a fellowship with IMPART, a strategic research training program on gender women and addiction, funded by the Canadian Insitutes for Health Research.  I am also a trainee with the NEXUS group at the University of British Columbia, which has an interest in the social context of health behaviour change.

Thesis

My thesis is on the topic of "knowledge translation" on women’s health issues, specifically about the potential of virtual communities of inquiry as forums that support the collaborative exchange, synthesis and application of knowledge on women’s health, on the part of researchers, service providers, policy makers/enacters and women’s health advocates in a way that improves the lives of women with substance use problems and addictions.
